Little Explorers Learning Center at Trinity
TDC provides full day care and early education for children, ages 2 weeks to 6 years at this location. The children are provided opportunities to learn and develop socially, developmentally, and intellectually. All meals are planned to promote healthy eating habits as well as to be nutritious. We offer individualized care in a learning environment. Play and positive interaction with teachers and other children support social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Parents are our partners and are encouraged to participate in all the center activities.
Staff child-ratios are mandated by Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) as part of the licensing process. We believe that licensing is important to the provision of quality child care in the community.
We are a contracting provider for family that are receiving military childcare assistance as well as those receiving assistance from DCF. (Department of Children & Families)

A Day in the Life of A Child!
Infants at Little Explorers have wonderful opportunities for learning and growing in a caring nurturing and stimulating environment. Each child has a developmental assessment completed four times a year. From those assessments, the teacher and parents together develop individualized goals for the child. The teacher implements these goals on an individualized lesson plan that is age and developmentally appropriate for the child. Their daily routine includes: feedings, diapering, floor time, naps, gross motor activities, outdoor time, and stroller rides. the infants also have the opportunity for sensory and art activities as well as story and music time.
Toddlers here have a busy day that includes breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack, diapering toileting, nap, art sensory, gross and fine motor, language development, social development, science, and outdoor activities. Each toddler has a developmental assessment completed four times per year and an individualized learning plan is developed by the teacher and parent. Activities are implemented on the weekly lesson plan to provide activities that support the individualized learning plans for each child. Each week, the classroom has a new theme, which also helps guide the lesson plans. Caring teachers and a fun environment make this a great place to be! children in this classroom are introduced to healthy eating and exercise through our Healthy Hops and Animal Tracker's programs.
Little Explorers has preschool classrooms for children aged 2 1/2 to 6 years old. Children will learn social and emotional skills, utilizing the Second Step Curriculum. Early literacy skills are taught using the following curriculums: Hand Writing Without Tears and Animated Alphabet. Healthy Hops and Animal Trackers are curriculums used to promote healthy eating and exercise. A developmental assessment is completed four times a year for each child. Once completed, it is then shared with the parent(s) and an individual learning plan is created. Lesson plans are then developed with the needs and goals of each individual child's development. A typical day would consist of breakfast, lunch, nap, and a snack with outdoor play, sensory exploration, fine and gross motor development, with art and music incorporated throughout the day. Your child will be learning, playing, and growing each day to ensure they are ready for school!
